The first Awasu 2.1.3 alpha release is now available.

It’s been a long, hard slog putting this release together but it’s been well worth it. Awasu has undergone a huge revamp and re-organization of it’s user interface and it looks fantastic! Past releases have introduced a lot of new features and along with them, a bunch of options to configure them. This release tidies everything up, presenting all the settings in a more logical and easier-to-use way. There have also been a large number of new features and bug fixes included.

Nick Bradbury (or rather the company that bought him out) is taking FeedDemon to a subscription based model. However, after a lot of negative feedback from FeedDemon users, the model has changed, so it will not stop working after your subscription runs out. You’ll still be able to read your feeds and download new items. As many of you suggested, more than likely we’ll disable features that rely on the subscription service (basically, synching and other pieces that tie into NewsGator’s online services), but everything else will continue to work (forever, if you like).

This release is bringing a series of dramatic improvements to Omea. Including (but definitely not limited to)…

• Cleaning up the GUI so it’s easier to use
• Serious memory and performance upgrades
• Tighter browser integration, so instead of surfing within Omea, now you can use your browser normally, and subscribe to RSS feeds, or take clippings directly
• Support for
1. Partial word searches (so your searching and auto-organizing is easier)
2. Excel
3. Podcasts
4. Comments to feed posts
5. Importing subscription archives from SharpReader, RSS Bandit, and FeedDemon
• And about 50-60 more improvements…

Version 2.2 is now available for free download. This release contains some important enhancements.

• Introduced categories
• Automatic removal of potentially malicious elements from feeds
• Fixed several problems related to proxy servers

RSS Captor 2.5 has been released with the following enhancements:

• Export feed list to OPML feature has been added

NewsGator Outlook edition 2.5 has been released. This is a major release, with a lot of major changes under the covers. The most exciting new feature in this release is improved synchronization; now, not only are subscriptions and content synchronized between machines, but read/unread/deleted status as well. Sauce Reader 2.0 is a complete rewrite and no longer requires the .NET framework. Using .NET for Sauce Reader v1 we were never able to achieve the level of performance we considered appropriate for a heavily used productivity application. .NET is a compelling and powerful platform, but currently unsuitable for widely adopted client side applications.

The Awasu 2.1.2 beta release is now available. There’s lots of Awasu goodness in this release. The main new feature is multiple workpads but there are also a bunch of other smaller, handy features.
