Plasmo is a free service that lets you channel your favorite web sites to your phone. Plusmo channels content from web sites in advance, so you can read it instantly anytime, even if you’re offline.

There are also a number of cool “gadgets” that you can setup - these are mini applications you may find useful on your phone to find cheap gas nearby or locate the nearest Starbucks.

Feed Editor

Feed Editor enables you to create a custom RSS feed without the need for any RSS experience or a steep learning curve. You can import an existing feed for editing or create a new feed from scratch by simply filling in the items and feed options. The program supports enclosures and iPod specific settings, as well as feed logos, and other optional feed items. Feed Editor can also comes with a wizard that can help to create a feed from a HTML page, CSV or XML file. You can preview your feed, export it and also upload it to your FTP account, using the built-in FTP client.



RSS Builder

RSS Builder is an easy to use program to create or maintain one or more RSS feeds for your web site. It provides an easy to use interface that lets you add topics, links and content, and then upload the .rss (v 2.0) file to your web server, using the built-in FTP client. Other features include a built-in HTML editor, XML preview, style sheets and support for enclosures/ podcasting.

New Feed Handling Feature in Firefox

Ben Goodger, the lead engineer for Mozilla Firefox, reports: We have just enabled an experimental Feed Handling feature, which will be available in nightly builds starting Friday May 5 2006. When you click on links to RSS or Atom feeds, you will be shown a preview page that lets you subscribe to the feed using your favorite reader. The idea for Firefox 2 is to also make web readers available as options.

Shrook is now freeware

Shrook 2.5 has been released and is now freeware, actually subscribtion based.

This isn’t a temporary promotion and this isn’t a sign of abandoning Shrook. I just want as many people as possible to be using it, because it is better than NetNewsWire and NewsFire and everything else out there. Shrook fans can now recommend it to their friends without requiring them to spend money.
